Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dates and time of the course?

Phase I (online) will run on every Friday and Saturday from 19 September to 22 November 2025, for a duration of 3 hours. Phase II, residential boot camp in Goa, India will be from 19–24 January 2026. Participants are expected to arrive in Goa on the 18th of January 2026 and leave on the 25th of January 2026.

Where can participants of Phase II stay?

Accommodation for selected participants for Phase II is booked at The International Centre Goa (ICG), North Goa with 7 nights’ stay and meals included. The check-in time will be 1 PM on the 18th of January 2026 and the check-out time will be 10 AM on the 25th of January 2026.

Are there any scholarships/ fee waivers available for applicants?

Yes, there are scholarships and fee waivers available for LMH 2025-26, for both Phase I and Phase II. All applicants are required to submit the application and scholarship form. Both forms are available on the website. Applicants who apply for a fee waiver or scholarship will be informed about the waiver amount offered following decision by the application review committee. Please note, full scholarships are not available for any applicants. Fee waivers will be spread across deserving applicants who require the support for both Phase I and II courses.

When will I know if I have been selected for the course?

Given that we receive a large number of applications, we will ideally try and get back to you about the decision within 4 weeks of submission of your application. 

What does the course fees include?

Phase I: Access to the learning platform and academic materials, including readings, recordings of sessions and presentations, till February 2026. Phase II: Accommodation for seven nights from the 18th of January 2026 (check-in at 1 PM) to the 25th of January 2026 (check out at 10 AM), all meals, course materials, and group leisure activities organised during the course. Note: Fees exclude travel to and from Goa, internal travel, and any additional services ordered at the venue. If you are selected for Phase III, mentoring for a year is provided to you at no extra cost.

What does the course fees not cover?

Travel costs to and from Goa, local travel in Goa, and any additional services ordered directly by you at the venue.

How can I get access to the course materials?

Do I have to go through Phase I to apply for Phase II or can I apply for Phase II directly?

The course is designed such that all participants are required to complete Phase I to be able to attend Phase II. In the application form, you will be given three choices: (1) apply ONLY for Phase I; (2) apply for Phase I and Phase II; (3) apply only for Phase II (if you have completed Phase I of the course in the past two years).

Is there a way to access a recording of the course sessions?

Yes, it will be made available to participants through our online learning platform and you will have access to it from September 2025 to February 2026

Who would be the course tutors?

The list of tutors for 2025-26 is yet to be finalised. Keep an eye on this where faculty will continue to be updated and all selected participants will be notified once the schedule is confirmed. Who can apply for the course?

We encourage applications from people who are committed to improving care at a population and community level and students and early-career researchers who are curious about the global mental health field. No prior clinical or mental health experience is required to apply for the course. We also encourage applications from people from diverse and allied fields of health, social work, etc. as the global mental health field acknowledges the need for multidisciplinary perspectives. People with lived experience of mental health, who are hoping to be changemakers at a systems and policy level are also encouraged to apply.

What is the Course schedule?

What is the Course fee structure and the last date of applying for the Course?

The detailed course schedule will be emailed to selected participants in early September 2026.

How much time will I get to make the fee payment?

After Phase II, can I get guidance for future job opportunities so that one can use this training effectively for social impact.

Participants will be given 2 weeks to make the fee payment after an acceptance email has been sent out to them. If you face any difficulty in making the payment, you can write to the team at lmh@sangath.in

If you are selected for Phase III of the course which involves online mentoring, you will be able to access advice on careers and explore options with your assigned mentor, who will be one of the tutors/facilitators from the course. We also encourage participants to network and develop relationships with various peers, tutors and the Sangath team. Previously, participants have reached out to people they have met via the course, in their individual capacity, to get advice, collaborate and plan future projects.

Can I cancel my application?

Cancellation charges will be as follows Phase I: 1. Refund after deduction of 10% for cancellation/Deferral 30 days before the start date. 2. No refund for cancellation within 30 days of the start date. Phase 2: 1. Refund after deduction of 25% for Cancellation/Deferral 30 days before the start date 2. No refund for Cancellation within 30 days of the start date Deferral to next year: You will have an option of deferring your admission to the next cohort. For phase I, there will be no charges for deferral. For phase II, the participant will be charged the room cancellation charges paid by Sangath to the venue at actuals

What will the participants get at end of the Course?

LMH participants will be provided with a Certificate after completion of Phase I and Phase II of the Course respectively.

If I apply for Phase II of the course, is the fees mentioned on the website to be paid irrespective of clearing the Phase I of the course or do we pay it only if we get selected after clearing the Phase I of the course?

What are the accommodations made for people with disabilities?
